The owners of a 2007 Ford F250 pickup contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residential driveway during the overnight period.
The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later a deputy from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputy tracked the Ford to the area of I-35 and Rittiman Road in Northeast San Antonio. As the deputy made visual contact with the pickup they observed it pull into the parking lot of a pizzeria. The driver was taken into custody without incidence. The pickup had minor entry/ignition damage and the tool box had been removed from the bed. The owner was notified and the pickup released into his care. The investigation is continuing an attempt to locate the whereabouts of the tool box and its contents. The driver was taken to the Bexar County correctional facility and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Ford F250 in April 2007 at Westway Ford in Irving, Texas.
