The owners of a 2007 Toyota Yaris contacted the Houston Police Department to report that they had loaned their vehicle out to an acquaintance to make a trip and that they failed to return the vehicle. The owner now believed the Toyota has been stolen and will prosecute if they are apprehended.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to an apartment parking lot where it was parked and abandoned. The Toyota did not appear to have any damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Yaris in June 2007 at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas.
