The owners of a 2005 Honda Element contacted the Cambridge Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during the morning. The Honda was stolen out of the driveway of the owner in Cambridge.
The Cambridge PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Short while later officers from the Cambridge PD with the assistance of a Police Tracking Computer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda. The LoJack PTC’s are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to the downtown area of the city. The Honda was recovered and returned to the owner. However, the following morning, the owner again reported the Honda stolen from the driveway. The Cambridge PD again verified the theft and entered the vehicle into the police computers again. A short time later, the Somerville Police Department picked up the LoJack signal, with the assistance of their PTC, were able to track and locate the Honda to a residential section of their city.

The two thefts and recoveries totaled just 24 hours and 30 minutes.
The LoJack ®System was installed in the Honda Element in May 2005 at Herb Chambers Honda in Boston, Massachusetts.
