While the owners were away from their residence for the evening, burglars pried open a window and entered a home located in the 900 block of East 65th Street in Tacoma. The criminals took two flat-screen television sets, an iPad and other items. They also found the keys and stole two vehicles, a 2001 Lexus RX300 and a 2010 Lexus RX350. The 2010 Lexus was equipped with LoJack.

When they returned late that evening and discovered the crimes, it was reported to the Tacoma Police Department who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus RX350.

Just five minutes later, the Tacoma PD officers equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus RX350. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Lexus was located in the parking lot of a casino in the 2000 block of East 29th Street. The Lexus was not damaged and was processed for evidence as it appeared it had not been parked there for very long. The owner was called to take possession of the Lexus.

Later the next day, the 2001 Lexus was recovered when a property owner called in an abandoned car.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus RX350 in May 2009 at Lexus of Tacoma in Fife, Washington.
