The owners of a used car dealership contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that a burglary had occurred overnight. Ten vehicles were stolen off the lot with the keys. One of the stolen vehicles was a 2007 Dodge Charger.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

Ten minutes later, officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Dodge to the neighborhood near 17th Street and Roeser Road in Phoenix.
The Dodge was located on a side street in the neighborhood. The Phoenix PD auto theft detectives responded and conducted surveillance. A short time later, four male suspects were observed getting into the Dodge. The four suspects were detained without incident. The suspects later admitted to the burglary and vehicle thefts. The four juvenile suspects were arrested for multiple felony charges. The stolen Dodge Charger was processed for evidence and returned to the car dealership in good condition.

Five additional stolen vehicles from the burglary were located and recovered nearby.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Charger in August 2008 at Power Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Phoenix, Arizona.
