The owner of a 2005 Mazda RX8 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Mazda in his apartment parking lot and when he returned to it he found it missing.
The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

Later, officers from the McKinney Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Mazda into the neighboring town of Allen, where they found it parked on the street. The Mazda was recovered in good condition. Officers are reviewing the video of the vehicle owner’s apartment complex to see if they can identify a suspect.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda RX8 in October 2004 at El Dorado Motors in McKinney, Texas.
