The owner of a 2008 Lexus IS250 contacted the Belleville Police Department to report that his vehicle had been stolen from his driveway in the City of Belleville. The owner stated that he started the Lexus and then went back into his house while the vehicle warmed up. When he came back outside the Lexus was gone.
The Belleville PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later, officers from the Newark Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to Lyons Ave. in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was found parked in an above ground parking garage. The Lexus was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Lexus IS250 in February 2012 at Toyotaland in Springfield, New Jersey.
