The owners of a Ford EC3 van contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment parking lot complex on Greens Road.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford van.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford van with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to 500 block of West Canino Road. The Ford was parked and abandoned and appeared to have been involved in an accident. There was damage to both sides of the van and the mirrors had been knocked completely off. The driver’s door lock and ignition had been tampered with and a screw driver was located in the ignition. The Ford was printed and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford EC3 van in November 2006 at Gillespie Ford in San Antonio, Texas.
