The owners of a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe contacted the Houston Police Department to report that they parked their vehicle at a Park and Ride lot and took a bus. When they returned a few hours later they discovered their Chevrolet had been stolen.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Tahoe.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet Tahoe with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to 8400 Broadway. The Chevrolet was backed into a parking space in the rear of the apartment complex. The driver’s door lock was popped along with the ignition switch. Damage was observed to the radio as if someone attempted to remove it but failed. The Chevrolet was printed by officers and the vehicle stored until the owner could be located.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe in January 2006 at Davis Chevrolet in Houston, Texas.
