The owner of a 2013 Ford Edge contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen. The owner stated the Ford was stolen during the overnight hours while parked on the driveway. When the owner went outside to put the trash cans along the curb she found her Ford to be missing. The owner told officers she believes a spare key was left inside of the Ford.
The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Just thirty minutes after the stolen vehicle entry, troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Ford and found it abandoned.

The Ford was recovered and will be released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Edge in November 2013 by Friendly Ford in Las Vegas, Nevada.
