The owner of a 2016 Mercedes Benz E400 contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.   The owner stated the Mercedes was stolen during the overnight hours while parked inside of the closed garage.  When the owner woke up, she found the garage door open and the Mercedes was missing.  The owner stated there was an extra key inside of the Mercedes when parked inside of the garage.

The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

An hour after the stolen vehicle entry, K9 officers from the Las Vegas Metro PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the K9 officers tracked the Mercedes and located it.

The Mercedes was recovered and released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in November 2015 by Auto Nation Mercedes of North Houston in Texas.
