The owner of a 2008 BMW 335i contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the vehicle as stolen.   The owner stated she left the engine running while the BMW was parked inside of the garage with the garage door open and she went inside her house.  When she returned to the BMW, she found the vehicle was gone along with the car keys and house keys.

The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW.

After thirty minutes of the stolen vehicle entry, officers from the Las Vegas Metro PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW and found it unoccupied.

The BMW was recovered and released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the BMW 335i in January 2008 by BMW of Las Vegas in Nevada.
