The owner of a 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek contacted the Boulder City Police Department to report the vehicle was stolen.

The Boulder City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

Under a half hour after the stolen vehicle entry, officers from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and troopers from the Nevada Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and troopers tracked the Subaru to an extended stay motel.

The Subaru was recovered and released to the owner at the scene.
