The owner of a 2006 Nissan Altima contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report the vehicle as stolen. The owner stated he parked in front of a residence, left the engine running and went inside to get a toolbox. When the owner exited the residence with the toolbox he found his Nissan was missing.
The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

A short time after the stolen vehicle entry, officers from the Las Vegas Metro PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Nissan and found it unoccupied.

The Nissan was recovered and towed from the recovery scene for safekeeping to be reunited with the owner at a later time.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in October 2006 by United Nissan in Las Vegas, Nevada.
