The owners of a 2016 Toyota Camry contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen while they were shopping at the local retail shopping center.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Later the Houston PD officers from the Beechnut division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers began tracking the Toyota which was being driven on a public street in the Houston area. Officers made a felony stop of the Toyota which was being driven by one female. The driver was questioned regarding her possession of the stolen Toyota. The driver told the officers she had just borrowed the Toyota from a friend. When the subject was searched the officers found the window sticker neatly folded inside her purse. The driver (suspect) was arrested and held on Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle charges pending further charges.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in December 2015 at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas.
