The owners of a 2010 Ford F150 pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway sometime during the day while they were away from home. When they arrived back at their residence they noticed the pickup missing.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later officers from the Missouri City Police Department and Deputies from Ft. Bend Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and deputies tracked the Ford to an apartment complex on Cartwright Road in Missouri City. Officers set up surveillance with negative results. The Ford was used in several home burglaries in Ft. Bend County area. The pickup was towed to the Missouri City PD impound for evidence processing pending release to the owner. The Ford received only minor entry and ignition damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 pickup in September 2010 at Helfman Ford in Stafford, Texas.
