The owners of a 2007 Audi AA contacted the Summit County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence in Green, Ohio.

The Summit County SO verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Audi.

A short while later troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Audi with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Audi to a residential area of Uniontown, Ohio.  It appeared that the suspects parked it there to “cool off.”

The Audi was impounded by the Summit County SO for processing.  Because of the quick recovery the suspects did not have enough time to strip the vehicle or use it to commit additional crimes.  To be further investigated by the Summit County SO.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Audi AA in September 2006 at Braman Audi in West Palm Beach, Florida.
