This Case excavator was stolen from a jobsite in Fircrest on Farallone Avenue sometime over a four day period.

When the theft was realized it was reported to the Fircrest Police Department who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the excavator.

Less than thirty minutes later, a Tacoma Police Department detective equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Case excavator. He was joined in the search by detectives with the ACE Auto Theft Task Force. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the excavator was located at 99th Street East & McKinley Avenue in Tacoma.

A suspect was arrested at the location. Examination of two new Ford Trucks, a 2016 F250 and a 2016 F350, at the scene revealed that both were recently stolen from a Ford dealership in Sumner. The excavator and trucks did not appear to be damaged. The suspect was booked into jail on multiple charges.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Case excavator in December 2009 via Commercial Sales.
