The owners of an Acura Integra contacted the Allentown Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The Allentown PD Radio dispatched an officer to investigate the incident. The officer quickly arrived on location, interviewed the complainant and surveyed the area for the Acura. When the Acura could not be located, the officer prepared a stolen vehicle report and arranged for the vehicle information to be entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

The Lehigh County Auto Theft Task Force monitors all stolen vehicle activity in the Lehigh and Northampton Counties. The investigators became aware of a LoJack equipped vehicle had been reported stolen and a LoJack activation had taken place. The highly trained investigators fanned out across the area in undercover police vehicles that are equipped with LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC). A short time later the investigators picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the investigators tracked the signal to the area of Greenleaf Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The investigators observed that the Acura was parked next to a fence in a commercial area. The investigators cautiously approached the Acura and determined that same was unoccupied. The investigators processed the Acura for physical evidence and then secured the vehicle. The owner was notified regarding the vehicle recovery.
