The owner of a Kia Sorento contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner stated that while at work someone took her car keys out of her purse and stole her Kia.
The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kia.

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kia with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Kia and observed it traveling northbound in the 1200 block of N. Stemmons Freeway. Officers were able to stop the stolen Kia and arrest the driver. The suspect admitted that she stole the Kia owner’s keys and her car. The Kia was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Kia Sorento in December 2002 at Huffine Jeep Kia in Denton, Texas.
