The owners of a 2005 Nissan Sentra contacted the Elizabeth Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Elizabeth PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Law enforcement officers from various New England police agencies picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  The stolen Nissan signal was tracked by troopers from both the Connecticut and Massachusetts State Police agencies as well as officers from the Holyoke, South Hadley and Chicopee Police Departments.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers of the Holyoke PD tracked the Nissan to a location in Holyoke.

The Nissan was recovered and one individual from a western Massachusetts town was taken into custody in the vehicle.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Sentra in November 2004 at Route 22 Nissan in Hillside, New Jersey.
