The owners of a 2000 Ford F250 pickup contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence sometime during the previous night.
The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later State Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the pickup to a large apartment complex where the Ford was parked and abandoned. No suspects in this case. The Ford was stored pending notification of the owner. The door lock and ignition both sustained damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 in December 2000 at Baytown Ford in Texas.
