The owners of a 2015 Kia Optima contacted the Fontana Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen by unknown suspects. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Kia Optima.

Minutes later the SANCATT detectives picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Kia with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Kia to 7th and Harris St in the city of San Bernardino.   Detectives located the Kia parked and unoccupied in a residential area.  Surveillance was set up and after some time, the undamaged Kia was recovered and stored for safe keeping. No suspects were arrested however, the investigation continues by the detectives from the SANCATT.

The LoJack® System was pre-installed in the Kia Optima March 2015 at Citrus Motors in Ontario, California.
