The owner of a 2006 Ford F250 pickup contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Ford in his driveway and when he returned to it the next morning found it missing.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later, officers from the Lancaster Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford to a house and found it parked in the driveway.  Parked next to it was a stripped 2006 Ford F250 pickup that also showed to be stolen.  The owner of the house stated that he rented this space to a mechanic and only knew him by his first name.  An arrest warrant is pending for either the homeowner or the mechanic.  This 2006 Ford F250 pickup was recovered with damage to the steering column.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F250 pickup in December 2005 at North Central Ford in Richardson, Texas.
