The owners of a 2003 Infiniti G35 contacted the Durham Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen as a result of a commercial burglary during the previous night.  The Infiniti had been left at an auto service garage.  The garage owner indicated the Infiniti and a Chevrolet Suburban, along with tools were taken from the business by unknown persons.  No suspect or witness was known at the time of reporting.

The Durham PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti.

A short while later officers from the Durham PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Infiniti to neighborhood off US 70 and Holloway St in south eastern Durham.  The suspect(s) jumped and ran from the Infiniti to avoid apprehension.  The Infiniti was processed for latent evidence and released to the owner.  The Chevrolet Suburban and tools have not been located as of this writing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti G35 in June 2006 at Able Infiniti in Rockville Center, New York.
