The owner of a 2005 Nissan Maxima contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised the Nissan was stolen from their residence located in the area of Broadway and Gibson in the Valley Area Command.  The officer verified the auto theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

After a short time of the activation, a detective with the Albuquerque Police Department Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol and unmarked vehicles.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the Nissan was tracked and located to a residential neighborhood in the area of Rio Grande and Candelaria in the Valley Area Command.  The detective observed the Nissan parked and unoccupied on the side of the road.  The Nissan was processed for evidence and was towed for safekeeping until the owner returns to town.
