The owner of a 2007 Lexus IS350 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen. The owner’s boyfriend had his vehicle stolen the previous day.  Inside his vehicle were the keys to her Lexus.  The suspect returned the following day and stole her Lexus out of her apartment’s parking garage.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Lexus to the 1100 block of S Corinth St, where they found it abandoned on the street.  The Lexus was recovered in good condition.  The owner’s boyfriend’s vehicle, which was not equipped with a LoJack® System, still has not been recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus IS350 in December 2008 at Sewell Lexus in Dallas, Texas.
