The owners of a 2005 Hyundai Tucson contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a convenience store parking lot at the intersection of Ostend Street and Leadenhall Street. The Hyundai was left unattended with keys in the ignition and engine running in Baltimore City, Maryland.
The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hyundai.

A short while later officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hyundai with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Hyundai to the 1900 block W. Fairmont Avenue in Baltimore City. At that location, officers observed the Hyundai parked and occupied by a driver/theft suspect. Officers placed the occupant under arrest for stolen auto and recovered the undamaged Hyundai.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Hyundai Tucson in July 2005 at Thompson Lincoln Mercury in Baltimore, Maryland.
