The owners of a 2015 Toyota Highlander contacted the Gwinnett County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a parking lot and that it was equipped with a LoJack® System tracking unit.
The Gwinnett County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.
A short while later a Gwinnett County PD officer working the early morning shift picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Highlander with the Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Highlander to an apartment complex.

The officer called for a unit to assist in tracking of the stolen Highlander and when an officer arrived at the location the officer spotted the stolen Toyota abandoned in a parking space with no one around. After a search of the area the officer had it towed to a local impound lot.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Highlander in June 2015 at Atlanta Toyota in Gwinnett, Georgia.
