The owner of a Toyota Camry contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner while at a gas station was approached by three suspects, who assaulted him and stole his Toyota.

The Dallas PD verified the robbery and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Toyota to the 4600 block of N Jim Miller Rd, where they observed it traveling southbound.  When they attempted to stop this stolen Toyota the driver refused to stop.  The suspect driving this stolen Toyota eventually stopped this vehicle and fled on foot.  He was apprehended.  The suspect was the only occupant of this stolen Toyota.  He admitted to the officers that he was involved in the robbery and named the other two suspects who were involved.  Arrest warrants for the other two suspects are pending.  This Toyota was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in August 2003 at Toyota of Richardson in Texas.
