The owner of this Scion unknowingly left the keys to his car by the front door of his residence in Seattle when he came home late in the evening. A person unknown found the keys and drove off with the Scion.

When the theft was discovered the next morning, it was reported to the Seattle Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Scion.

Less than thirty minutes later, a King County Sheriff’s deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Scion was located at SW 126th Street & 4th Avenue SW in Burien. It was abandoned and did not appear to be damaged.

The owner was called to the scene to take possession of the Scion.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Scion XD in August 2008 at Toyota of Tacoma in Washington.
