The owner of a 2015 ATCO Air Compressor reported to the New York Police Department 108 precinct Queens, NY, that his machine was stolen from him.

The owner parked his Air Compressor on his property at his place of business where he normally parks it and left for the day. When he came back to work the next day he found it missing.  He immediately called the NYPD of the 108 precinct Long Island City, Queens, NY. When the NYPD arrived they verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Air Compressor.

A short time later the signal was picked up on a LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that the police have installed in their vehicles. This silent signal was picked up in the Astoria section of Queens, confines of the 114 precinct. The signal was followed by the directional and audible cues from the PTC. This signal led them to a residential block, where it was narrowed down to a commercial garage. The Auto Crime detectives staked the garage out for a short while, when no one returned to the garage a search warrant was applied for. This was done after confirmation was made that the machine was in the garage, which was made possible by the LoJack signal. Once the search warrant was secured, entry was made into the garage. There they found the machine in excellent condition. Through investigation the detectives discovered further evidence of the suspects who put the machine in the garage and an arrest is eminent.  The owner was notified and he stated that he was happy that he had the LoJack® System installed on his machine; otherwise his machine may not have been recovered at all. Further saying it was well worth the money.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 ATCO Air Compressor in August 2015 via Commercial Sales in Long Island City, Queens, New York.
