The owner of a 2005 Scion XA station wagon contacted the Miami Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

A short while later an off-duty Auto Theft Task Force investigator picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Scion XA on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The investigator began tracking the stolen Scion by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The investigator, along with their backup from the Miami Police Department located the Scion in an apartment complex parking lot in the 400 block of S.W. 4th Street. The Scion was recovered, released to the owner, who responded to the scene and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Scion XA in January 2005 at Expressway Toyota in Miami, Florida 2005.
