This Bobcat was stolen from a construction site in Seattle sometime over a several day period. The theft was reported to the Seattle Police Department. The report was verified and they entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Bobcat.
That same afternoon, several agencies received the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Bobcat on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

A King County Sheriff’s Office deputy tracked the signal to the area of First Avenue South & 108th.  It was determined to be inside a fenced area at that location, but could not be seen amongst the buildings there.  A search warrant was obtained based on the LoJack signal.  Upon entering the property, the Bobcat was located as well as a stolen equipment trailer and a sweeper attachment.

The investigation has been turned over to a detective with the auto theft task force for follow-up.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Bobcat in November 2009 for a commercial customer.
