The owners of a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence after they received a LoJack Early Warning notification from their LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the State and Federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet Silverado pickup.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to a large apartment complex near 500 Yale in North Houston where they located the pickup backed into a parking space with the front license tag removed. Officers set up surveillance and after no one came around the pickup the owner was contacted and the Chevrolet was released to him.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado pickup in November 2011 at Classic Chevrolet Sugar Land in Texas.
