The owner of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe contacted the Albuquerque Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen.  The owner advised the Chevrolet was stolen from the parking lot of the hotel located in the area of Menaul and I-25 in the Valley Area Command.  The officer verified the auto theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Tahoe.

After a short time of the activation, a detective with the Albuquerque Police Department Auto Theft Unit picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Tahoe with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol and unmarked vehicles.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the Tahoe was tracked and located to a parking structure in the area of Central and Arno in the Valley Area Command.  The Auto Theft Detective observed the Tahoe was parked and unoccupied out of direct view from the roadway.  The Tahoe was processed for evidence and found to have a damaged door lock and ignition.  The Tahoe was returned to the grateful owners at the recovery scene.
