The owners of a 2007 Toyota Camry contacted the Cleveland Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway of their Cleveland residence.
The Cleveland PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Toyota to a remote area of Cleveland.

It appeared that the suspects parked it to allow it to “cool off.” Because of the quick recovery there was no damage to the Toyota and the suspects were unable to use it to commit additional crimes. The stolen Toyota was impounded and later released to the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in September 2006 by Prestige Toyota in Ramsey, New Jersey.
