The foreman of a construction site arrived at his job site late at night and discovered that the 2015 BWISE 21-foot flatbed trailer that he parked earlier in the day was missing. The foreman contacted the Orlando Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the day. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the trailer.

In the early hours of the next morning, a Seminole County Sheriff’s Office deputy piloting their helicopter “Alert One” picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen trailer on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) near the area of Courtland Blvd. and Neal Drive. The deputy began tracking the stolen trailer by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The pilot directed the ground units of the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office into the area where one of the VCSO deputies located the trailer in good condition near the intersection of Rosedale Drive and Highland Drive, in Deltona, Florida. The trailer was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems. As the result of an extensive and thorough follow-up investigation by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office auto theft unit, a suspect was arrested for Grand Theft Auto of the 2015 Black BWISE 21-foot flatbed trailer and had a $2,500.00 bond placed on the suspect.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2015 BWISE 21-foot flatbed trailer in July 2015 in Maitland, Florida.
