The owners of a 2002 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Prince George’s County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during a carjacking in the 200 block Harry S. Truman Drive in the Largo area of Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The Prince George’s County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later detectives from the Washington Area Vehicle Enforcement picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the Cadillac to the 2300 2nd Street NE in Washington, District of Columbia. At that location, detectives observed the Cadillac abandoned and unoccupied. The Cadillac was recovered by detectives and towed for forensic processing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2002 Cadillac Escalade in June 2007 at Ken Dixon Automotive in Waldorf, Maryland.
