The owner of a 2011 Ford Ranger contacted the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their residence was burglarized and their vehicle was stolen. The LVMPD verified the burglary, the auto theft and subsequently entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Within just seven minutes of the activation, officers from the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford and found it unoccupied. The VIPER Auto Theft Detectives were on scene and established surveillance on the stolen Ford in hopes of apprehending the offender. An offender did not return at which time the Ford was recovered and released back to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Ranger in May 2012 by Team Ford Lincoln in Las Vegas, Nevada.
