The owners of a 2002 Saturn SL contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.
The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Saturn.

A short while later, troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol and officers from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Saturn with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Phoenix PD officers tracked the Saturn to the area of 43rd Avenue and Bell Road.
The Saturn was located unoccupied in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Auto theft detectives from Phoenix PD set up surveillance and later detained four suspects. After further investigation and interviews, one suspect was arrested and booked for the vehicle theft. The Saturn was processed for evidence and later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Saturn SL in July 2002 by Saturn of Tempe in Arizona.
