The owners of a 2004 Nissan Titan contacted the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.
The Maricopa County SD deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Five minutes later, officers from the Chandler Police Department and the Phoenix Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Phoenix PD officers tracked the Nissan to the area of Central Avenue and Southern Avenue in south Phoenix.

The stolen Nissan was occupied and fled from police. After a short pursuit, the suspects bailed out of the stolen Nissan and fled on foot. Both suspects were located and arrested by police. The Nissan was recovered and processed for evidence. The Nissan was impounded for safe keeping and later returned to the owners. Both suspects were booked for the vehicle theft and additional felony charges.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Titan in December 2004 by ABC Nissan in Phoenix, Arizona.
