The owners of a 2014 Ford Escape contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen during the overnight period from their apartment parking lot where it was parked in front of their apartment.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford Escape.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to an apartment parking lot only a few miles from the theft location. Officers observed the Ford for a period of time and when there was no activity called the owner to come to the location and take possession.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Escape in August 2014 by Mac Haik Ford in Houston, Texas.
