The owners of a 2007 Cadillac Escalade contacted the Detroit Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen overnight from their driveway.

The Detroit PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Cadillac.

A short while later troopers from the Michigan State Police picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Cadillac with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Cadillac to a residence in Detroit.  They determined that the signal was coming from a garage.

After obtaining consent from the owner of the property they found that the Cadillac was in the garage and operable.  The home owner was arrested on several warrants.  The Cadillac was impounded and later released to the owner.  The investigation is ongoing and appears that the vehicle may have left Michigan for a short while.  Suspect to be charged with additional auto theft related crimes.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Cadillac Escalade in November 2006 by Ed Morse Cadillac in Delray Beach, Florida.
