The owner of a 2007 Honda Accord 4-door sedan contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the night. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, while on routine patrol, an Orange County SO deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Accord on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The deputy began tracking the stolen Accord by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The deputy, along with their backup, located the Accord in the 6100 block of Oakcrest Circle. Surveillance was established. After a while the deputy moved in and recovered the Accord. A search of the Accord incident to recovery resulted in finding a gym bag with an Ipad in it. The Ipad’s owner’s information was inside. He was contacted and his property was returned to him. Apparently where he was staying was burglarized and his property stolen. The Accord was released to the owner, who responded to the scene, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 Honda Accord in February 2007 by Coggin Honda of Orlando in Florida.
