The owner of a 2004 Grey Mercedes-Benz E55 4-door sedan contacted the North Bay Village Police Department to report that their vehicle stolen from in front of their home sometime during the night. The police verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes.

A short time later, while on routine patrol, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC).  The trooper began tracking the stolen Mercedes by following the directional and audible cues on their PTC screen. The trooper, along with their backup, located the signal emanating from an automotive repair shop in the 700 block of S.W. 16th Avenue in Delray Beach.  The Mercedes was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2004 Mercedes-Benz E55 in November 2003 by Mercedes Benz of Greenwich in Connecticut.
