LoJack® System Helps Baltimore City Police Department Recover Stolen Toyota Scion

The owners of a 2008 Toyota Scion XB contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home during a burglary where the keys to the vehicle were taken in the 3400 block Claremont Street in Baltimore City, Maryland.
The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Scion.

A short while later officers from the Baltimore City PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Scion with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to the 200 block S. Clinton Street in the Canton area of Baltimore City. At that location, officers observed the Toyota parked and unoccupied. Officers recovered the undamaged Toyota and had it towed to a crime lab for forensic processing.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2008 Toyota Scion XB in January 2008 by Castle Toyota in Baltimore, Maryland.
