The owners of a 2005 Lexus SC430 contacted the Plano Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The owner’s car lot was burglarized and several car keys were taken from the office and this vehicle was stolen off the car lot.

The Plano PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Later, officers from the Plano PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Lexus to a five story parking garage and found this stolen Lexus parked on the fourth level.  While recovering the Lexus, a 2010 Acura TI followed by a Ford pickup drove up to the fourth level.  Upon seeing the officers, the driver of the Ford pickup jumped out of his vehicle and fled on foot.  He was apprehended.  The driver of the Acura was detained.  The Acura had just been stolen from the same car lot the Lexus was stolen from.  The keys to the stolen Lexus were found in the Ford pickup.  Both suspects were arrested.   Both stolen vehicles were recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus SC430 in July 2005 by Lexus Kearny Mesa in San Diego, CA.
