The owner of a 1994 Toyota Camry called the North Las Vegas Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen from their residence in the area of North Martin Luther King and West Brooks. The NLVPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Within 40 minutes of the activation, Officers with the NLVPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers tracked the Toyota to the area of North Las Vegas Blvd and North Civic Center. The Officers located the Toyota parked and unoccupied in a casino parking lot which is about 2 ½ miles from the original theft location. The Officers recovered the Toyota and released the vehicle to the victim’s son.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in October 1994 by Copeland Toyota in Brockton, Massachusetts.
