The owner of a 2006 Nissan Altima called the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen while visiting from San Diego. The LVMPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Within six minutes of the activation, Officers with the LVMPD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Officers tracked the Nissan and found it occupied with two subjects inside. The two subjects were arrested and the Nissan was released to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in August 2006 by Mossy Nissan Kearny Mesa in San Diego, California.
